Bratenahl is located just east of downtown Cleveland. Incorporated in 1905, Bratenahl is known for its quiet, country-like atmosphere. Beautiful trees and magnificent lakefront views abound. Mansions and large estates coexist with older, traditional homes. Several newer developments with a mix of town houses, duplexes, larger houses, private clubs, and a private marina have come into the Village in the last few years. Two high rise condos grace the lakefront. Eclectic and unique, this community is truly one of a kind.

Bratenahl Village began as a summer colony for Cleveland’s wealthy. Prominent families such as Britton, Corning, Dempsey, Garfield, Hanna, Holden, Mather, Rand, Rockefeller, and others built estates in the Village. Over the years, new groups of people entered the Village: War Veterans, baby boomers, young professionals, young families with children, empty nesters giving us an interesting mix of residents.

Bratenahl: What sums it up best might be these words from our old school Alma Mater:

“…You will find no other like her,
in all this land of ours.
She is the best, the very best,
All hail to Bratenahl!”

MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF BRATENAHL,
